We know that Governor Mike Beebe has a vegetable garden because it's displayed in these photos from on his website. It's also mentioned on this page:
The Georgian colonial mansion is flanked by two colonnade walkways linking the mansion to two cottages. Through the colonnades, one can view the gardens that frame the home. The eight and one half acres feature one of the largest herb gardens maintained by the National Herb Society and a vegetable garden maintained by Master Garden Club.
And on the ornamental front, we see here on the website of P. Allen Smith (a Little Rock garden write/designer) that he's been working on the governor's garden for 20 years, including his recent planting of 230 bare-root Knock Out roses. They're the popular new pest-resistant shrub roses that require no spraying or fertilizing. We're checking with P. Allen to learn more about landscaping practices on the grounds.
The roses were donated by Conard-Pyle, growers of Knock Outs.
