Mayor Sheila Dixon has turned the formal gardens in front of City Hall into a 2,000 square foot vegetable garden, with produce going to feed the poor.  And it WILL be beautiful, says designer Angela Treadwell-Palmer (photo right).  The help of Master Gardeners will be essential in the planting and upkeep of this high-visibility garden that replaces bedding annuals.  Nice!

RESULTS
The growing of vegetables?  Yes, a move planned before the White House garden was announced.  Sustainable landscaping on a prominent public site?  No word yet.
